I've listened to several recent BOS meetings where it was repeatedly stated "the school committee agreed to an override". This could not be further from the truth for me. On April 8th I voted on the FY25 WHRSD budget, an assessment amount to Hanson and an assessment amount of $19,153,687. to Whitman. I fully expect this assessment figure, pursuant to MGL and Regional School finance laws and regulations, will be presented as one amount to Whitman voters at town meeting on May 6th. At no time was a motion made at the school committee for the FY25 budget to be contingent on a school override.
