Hopefully the information we provide will clarify what we have spent and why. At last night’s Select Board meeting the question of WHRSD budget advocacy was raised. I’m reaching out to see if there are any plans to have information about the WHRSD budget available at our upcoming Special Town Meeting. One of our challenges this year seems to be the narrative around the use of the one time ESSR money to add positions. I was hoping that an informational piece could be provided that breaks down how those funds were used and a explanation that many of the positions were required by law and/or were necessary as a result of Covid. I firmly believe that if folks are provided with the facts, they can make an educated decision about the WHRSD budget at the Special Town Meeting. I’m also hoping that there will be a WHRSD and School Committee presence at this meeting to answer related questions. Hope that all makes sense. Please do not hesitate to contact me at (781) 640-3258 if you would like to discuss this further.
